12 Week Checkup
Well, we had our first OB appointment today with our doctor. We were excited to hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time today but as it turns out, our child is already stubborn. The doctor spent about 10 minutes listening for the heartbeat but was only able to hear about 2 beats at a time. He was able to hear my heartbeat though which he said would be the placenta. This means that the placenta is in the front of my uterus and the baby is hiding behind it. The doctor is not concerned at all though because everything else is going well and my uterus is the right size. So, we get to go back in two weeks, instead of the usual 4, to try to hear the heartbeat again. Pray that our little one will be a little more cooperative next time!

So happy for you-it is amazing to hear your child's heartbeating inside your belly. Your baby is truly a miracle isn't he/she? Elias never "sat" still when they wanted to listen to his heartbeat, measure his size, or see his face. He was so, so active in the womb, but after he was born...he became a GREAT sleeper through the night...so maybe it's a sign you have a good sleeper! ;) We can hope, right!
